The morning. Let’s do Mekong Delta 2 Day Tour. Our car and tour guide will pick you up at your hotel and take you to Ben Tre. An unforgettable way of seeing the Mekong Delta is to drive along the provincial roads in the Southern region of Vietnam through rice paddy fields, orchards and small hamlets.

After your arrival to Ben Tre city, a local motor boat will take you on a cruise along the Bến Tre River to discover local activities. We will stop to see how people make bricks then go trekking in the fruit garden. We will continue our boat ride to Cai Sơn and Nhơn Thạnh creeks to see how mats are produced. You will be able to enjoy the Mekong Delta’s incredible agriculture by going through rice fields and vegetable gardens on a motor-cart.

From there, the boat will take you to the local village to visit a handmade coconut candy workshop and taste some pastries and candies of different flavors. You will also be able to drink natural honey tea and wine at a bee farm.

In the afternoon, a rowing boat carries you into the canals of the Mekong Delta in a peaceful and relaxing cruise to enjoy the beautiful scenery, with coconut palm trees covering the canal. You will have a special lunch with regional specialties such as elephant ear fish, shrimp cooked with coconut milk and banana flower.

After the meal, we will float along the Cái Cối creek and then transfer to the bus. Our bus will take you to Can Tho. Have dinner and overnight in Can Tho.

After breakfast, the car will take you to the Ninh Kieu Wharf. Then you will visit Cai Rang Floating market by boat. The market is around six kilometers from Can Tho, or a 30-minute boat ride. While floating down the river, you will glimpse life along its shores. You’ll pass vibrantly painted boats anchored along the shore, merchant vessels carrying loads down the river and houses built on stilts over the water.

Once you finally reach the market, it’s an impressive site. A stretch of boats selling all varieties of goods lines the river. Not really a place for souvenirs, people come here instead to buy large quantities of goods, mostly foodstuffs, and you will get an idea of what water commerce in the Delta looks like. Your guide on the boat will usually give you tidbits of information about Cai Rang Floating Market as you weave through the hordes.

You’ll learn that boats identify what they are selling by hanging a sample off the top of a long pole; if you want pineapple, simply scan the horizon for a hanging pineapple. You’ll also get the opportunity to interact with some of these floating merchants; most commonly this happens when a small boat selling drinks latches onto the tour boat’s side.

Have you tried the Vietnamese vermicelli noodle? Now, you will see how it is made. After that you will trek along the village to get in touch with the locals. You will have the opportunity to cross a “monkey bridge”, built with one bamboo tree.

Leaving the village, you will visit Can Tho market and have  lunch there. Then, the car will take you back to Saigon.
