The morning, let’s do Private Mekong Delta 1 Day Tour with Luco Travel – Vietnam Tour Operator. Our car and tour guide will pick you up at your hotel, departing for the Mekong Delta. It takes one hour and thirty minutes driving to get to My Tho town in Mekong Delta. One the way, travellers will have a chance to see these beautiful landscapes along the road such as the green rice fields, the peaceful Vam Co Dong river and the busy Long An town. End route, Our bus will stop at Mekong rest stop where you can take a rest and see the bonsai garden.
Mekong delta 1 day tour for drinking coconut water
Arrive at My Tho town, visit Vinh Trang pagoda an oldest ancient one in Southern Vietnam. Known as the largest pagoda and the most special architecture in Mekong Delta. It’s architecture was influenced by Vietnamese culture and Khmer’s culture as well as European’s architecture.

After visiting Vinh Trang pagoda, the bus will take tourists to the pier to get on a motor boat. Take a leisurely boat ride in Tien river to enjoy fresh air, to see the peaceful life of the local people, Passing the stilt house, the fishing floating farm, the four Islands: Dragon, Phoenix, Tortoise, Unicorn
After taking the boat for about 30 minutes, we will arrive at Thoi Son Island, the biggest of four islands. Take a leisurely walk on the village paths, visit local people’s home, orchard garden and enjoy seasonal fruits while listening to traditional Southern folk music. Take a hand- rowing boat through the creeks for sightseeing the natural water coconut trees, a symbol in the Delta areas.
The local people will give you the “nón lá”, the Vietnamese traditional hat. After that you can try to row the boat by yourself. After 20 minutes we will arrive at the bee keeping farm, then visit the honey bee farm and taste delicious honey tea with lemon that is really good for health. Local people also have a python farm for those tourists, who like adventure can take a photo with pythons.
Mekong delta 1 day tour for rowing boat
Return to the motor boat then cruise to Ben Tre province (known as the country of coconut in Mekong Delta), visit coconut candy workshop to know how to make delicious candies by hand. The highlight of the trip is to take a sightseeing tour through the peaceful villages by horse cart. And then the tourists go back to the motorboat to visit the Phoenix Island to visit the crocodile farm. Having lunch in the orchard garden.

After lunch, ride a bicycle through the village paths to enjoy the fresh air and observe the pastoral life. Then take a short walk through the narrow village. Return to the boat and take you back to the bus, then the bus will take you back to Ho Chi Minh city.

We had a brilliant 2 day tour with Louis travelling around the Mekong Delta, the Cu chi tunnels and Saigon. The weather was changeable at times but always hot but it didn’t matter. I am living in Vietnam for many years now and choosed Luong for a Mekong Delta tour with my family who came here to visit me. I choosed him because he was recommended by some friends. We had an awesome multiple day trip through the Mekong Delta: Trips by boat, local factories, local markets, mangroves and in between always tasty food and beer ;). Though I am livinig in Vietnam I experienced a lot of new things. His english is very good and he knows how to make the time fly on longer bus rides. He’s definitely the right choice for having an awesome time in Vietnam.
It was an amazing trip to the Mekong Delta tour. It was great that Luong had customized his service for our group of the 7 people from America as he organised the private tour for us which had fulfilled our request. He is the best tour guide in planing tour, I love how he put the passangers first as he know when we get tired and hungry and when to take activities such as bicycle ride tour by the river to see the real life of the people there before we ate, also we were all excited after the rides and feel hungry then here came the lunch time, just right on time that we were ready to eat! you can taste and try free the local fruits, and the best part we were surprise when Luong gave each of us a Vietnamese tradittional hat they call “non la” . and it was great actually it just a perfect gifts for us, we can use it there also take back home with us, this really make the trip special, that i dont see this in any other companies else.

I think it was an interesting trip for me and my team to the Mekong Delta, Luong was a talented tourguide, he is so fun and caring, the best part of the tour was when tourist can actually eating the food free there . the service was great, i love the story that the tourguide telling along the way. the driver is cool and safety too. Areas visited were interesting, tho i think can give Mekong Delta a miss.
We took a one day Mekong River tour from HCMC. Our Tour guide was called Lewis and he made sure we had an amazing action packed day. The price was cheap and we were able to see all the different highlights we would have wanted. Alot of which just would not have been possible alone. Many unexpected added extras, ie delicious fruits and treats. We visited a temple, tried fresh honey tea, took a surreal boat ride, tried coconut candy and watched their making process, had a delicious lunch and saw a ton of crocodiles!
However although the sights were amazing, Lewis made the tour so enjoyable. He was very knowledgeable and friendly with all the locals. Very organised and good at dealing with a group that spoke 3 languages. He offered to take photos then sent them to us at the end and was altogether a super friendly and helpful guide!
Also, I think it is good to add that timings felt perfect. We always had time to explore and enjoy each stop but we’re never hanging around for too long.
Would recommend this trip 100% (and try get Lewis as your guide!!).
