Welcome to Saigon - Ho Chi Minh City! Upon arrival at the Tan Son Nhat Airport – Ho Chi Minh City you will be met and greeted by our staff and transfer to the hotel in the town center for check-in. The rest of the day is at leisure.

DAY 2: HOCHIMINH CITY SIGHTSEEING                                                                                                                            (B/-/-)

 

Full day discovery of Ho Chi Minh City.
Start with one of the well-known museums (either War Remnant Museum or History Museum upon your choice) then continue with the Reunification Place – the President palace of the South Vietnam. Following is the nearby Notre Dame Cathedral and Saigon Central Post Office, two of the prominent colonial gothic architectures in the city. Then travel along the Dong Khoi Street – formerly Rue Catinat made famous by Graham Greene and his best-selling book The Quiet American and for sightseeing of other featured sights such as the Hotel Continental, Saigon Opera House, and City Municipal House.
Spend some time to wander around the central market of Ben Thanh where an amazing variety of local products are displayed and sold.
Lunch with local authentic food and this afternoon we will head to Cho Lon, the city’s hustle Chinatown district. Visit Binh Tay market and then the Thien Hau Pagoda dedicated to the goddess of the sea and then FITO, the Vietnam's first traditional medicine museum which displays an amazing collection of traditional Vietnamese medicine.

DAY 3: HOCHIMINH CITY - MEKONG DELTA - HOCHIMINH CITY                                                                                 (B/-/-)

 

Leave the hustle of Ho Chi Minh City for a slightly longer than 2 hour drive to Cai Be, home to the colorful floating market, vast emerald rice fields, lush back waterways and evergreen tropical orchards. 
Board your private long tail boat to visit Cai Be floating market where hundreds of boats gather for selling and buying local products on the water, making it a very exciting scene. Sample productsa re hung on a pole to attract customers and make it easier for people to see from afar. 
Disembark the boat and visit a cottage factory and see people making ‘pop rice’, rice paper and coconut candies.
Continue your cruise along the zigzag canal and visit to a garden house where lunch with Mekong specialties is served.
After lunch, take a walk around to sightsee or just simply take a rest on a hammock under the shade of a fruit tree.
Midafternoon drive back to Ho Chi Minh City.

DAY 4: HOCHIMINH CITY - DANANG - HOIAN                                                                                                             (B/-/-)

 

Get transfer to the Tan Son Nhat Airport for a short flight to Danang and then a short drive from Danang to Hoi An.
Lying on the bank of Thu Bon River, the quaint town of Hoi An was   a main port city in central Vietnam from the 17th to 19th century where merchant boats from around the world gathered for supplies and to do business.

Today, Hoi An ancient architectures, traditions and lifestyle is combined and preserved very well to make it a unique place.
Afternoon walking tour of the ancient town to visit the colorful market, Chinese temple and assembly halls, former merchants’ homes and the 400 year-old Japanese Covered Bridge.

DAY 5: HOIAN - HUE                                                                                                                                                   (B/-/-)

 

Leave Hoi An for a drive though the spectacular landscape to Hue, the former imperial capital of Vietnam, with stops to visit Cham museum in Danang which contains a great collection of Cham sculptures. Then visit the Hai Van Pass and the wonderfully photogenic fishing village of Lang Co.
Afternoon visit to the Imperial Citadel and Forbidden City of the Nguyen Dynasty where its remains reflect the pomp and ceremony of the dynastic rulers as well as the scars of many years of turmoil. 
End your day with a visit to the city’s vibrant Dong Ba Market to see it’s abundance of fresh produce and perhaps try some ‘banh khoai’, a local specialty that Hue is famous for.

DAY 6: HUE SIGHTSEEING - HANOI                                                                                                                             (B/-/-)

 

Boar the dragon boat for a cruise on the Perfume River and visit the ancient Thien Mu Pagoda with its 7-storey Phuoc Duyen tower mirrors into the water surface. Continue to the tomb of the emperor Minh Mang, a masterpiece of Royal architecture built in perfect harmony with the natural setting then Khai Dinh Emperor’s Tomb which is traditional Vietnamese in design with a European touch making it unique from the other tombs in Hue.
Transfer to the Phu Bai Airport for the 1-hour flight to Hanoi. Upon arrival, transfer downtown Hanoi for hotel check in. The rest of the day is at your leisure.

DAY 7: TOUR OF HANOI                                                                                                                                       (B/-/-)

 

Today is our full day of Hanoi’s featured sights.
Start with a visit to the memorial complex for the father of modern Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh that includes the mausoleum and his humble house on stilts. Nearby is the little One Pillar Pagoda, one of Vietnam’s most iconic temples built from 1049 by Emperor Ly Thai Tong.
The picturesque West Lake and the sixth century Tran Quoc Buddhist Pagoda will be visited next before having a visit to the Temple of Literature - Vietnam's first university built from 1076 where Vietnamese intellectuals were educated. The names of those who received Doctor Laureate through royal examinations still remain on huge stone steles that stand on turtle’s backs.

This afternoon is for either the Ethnology Museum exhibiting the ethnic groups of Vietnam or Hoa Lo Prison also nicknamed by American pilots as the Hanoi Hilton. Later enjoy a cyclo ride through the Old Quarter also known as the ‘Hanoi’s 36 streets,’ home to literally thousands of small businesses and shopkeepers, a great place to explore with plenty of photo opportunities all around you, arranged by Luco Travel Vietnam Tours & Services

 

DAY 8: HANOI - HALONG BAY                                                                                                                                (B/L/D)

 

Depart Hanoi and enjoy a drive through the rich farmlands of the Red River Delta to Halong Bay, one of the most beautiful places on Earth that is twice recognized by UNESCO as World Heritage for its exceptional natural and cultural values.

Board the wooden cruiser and enjoy sumptuous fresh seafood lunch as you wind your way through spectacular bay of dramatic islands, floating villages and mirror-like water. Visit a huge limestone cave with full of stalactites and stalagmites and enjoy the rest of the day to swim and paddle kayak or just simply relax on the top desk in spectacular sunset.

Enjoy the spectacular view of the bay at sunrise with a cup of coffee or tea. The boat will then set sail for another part of Halong bay through strange-shaped limestone rock formations for more spectacular discovery. Brunch is served before you disembark the boat at the harbor at early noon. Bus drive back to Hanoi.

DAY 10: HANOI - VIENTAINE                                                                                                                             (B/-/D)

 

Get transfer to the airport for a short flight to Vientiane.
On the banks of the Mekong River, Vientiane is the charming and fascinating capital of Laos. This small town conjures up exotic images, with the curious mix of Lao, Thai, Chinese, Vietnamese, and French influences.

In the afternoon, we will take a small sightseeing tour to visit to Sisaket temple ancient temple that stands intact in its original form and certainly is one of the most interesting in the country and containing a total of 6,840 Buddha images and Haw Phra Kaew that functions as a museum of art with a very impressive collection of Laotian Buddhist artefacts.

DAY 11: VIENTAINE - DRIVE TO VANG VIENG                                                                                                           (B/-/-)

 

Leave Vientiane for Vang Vieng on a drive along the spectacular countryside. Along the way we will visit the busy and colorful market of Thalat where various hill tribes come to trade their goods and buy previsions. We will also head to Vang Xang, famous for the archeological site dating back 11th century.

Nestled on a bend of the Nam Song River, the small and tranquil village of Vang Vieng is endowed with the beautiful scenery of quiet water and limestone outcrops unchanged for centuries.
The remainder of the day is left for wandering and to catch our first glimpse of this hill town.

DAY 12: VANG VIENG - VISIT AROUND - DRIVE TO LUANG PRABANG                                                                         (B/-/-)

 

Breakfast then head out of town to the famous cave of Tham Jang that was once used by local people as a hideout from Chinese invaders. We will also cross the river to Ban Huai Ngai, a very pleasant village where we can explore the different local lifestyle.

Continue our way to Luang Prabang. The road is little bumpy however the stunning mountain scenery makes it worth the journey.
Luang Prabang with its gleaming temple roofs, fading colonial architecture and stunning mountain backdrop has been claimed by UNESCO to be "the best preserved traditional city in South East Asia".  There is little traffic on Luang Prabang roads and monks in orange robes scurry in all directions carrying umbrellas to shade themselves from the sun.

DAY 13: LUANG PRABANG SIGHTSEEING                                                                                                                  (B/-/-)

 

Full day discovery of Luang Prabang with our first our stop being the former Royal Palace that has been turned into a National Museum displaying a lovely collection of the artifacts reflecting the richness of Lao culture dating from the days of the early kings right through the last sovereign.

Continue to other landmarks including the impressive stupa of Wat Visoun, the shrine of Wat Aham, the city's oldest temple of Wat Sene and the Wat Mai with five tiered roofs.

It would be not complete without climbing 329 steps to the top of Phousi Hill for a beautiful sunset view of the Mekong River. The zigzag path crosses over various temples to the sacred, gilded stupa of Wat Phou, another World Heritage Site, recognized by UNESCO in 2002si at the summit.

DAY 14: MEKONG CRUISE - PAK OU CAVES                                                                                                                  (B/-/-)

 

Morning visit to the magnificent Wat Xieng Thong which nestles at the meeting of the Mekong and the Nam Khan River, then board a cruise upstream the Mekong River to the mysterious of Pak Ou Caves that crammed with thousands of gold lacquered Buddha statues of various shapes and sizes.

Along the way, we stop at Ban Xang Hai to visit the rice wine distillation.
This afternoon we visit to the famous weaving village of Ban Phanom where shoppers have a chance to try their hand at bargaining.
