Hanoi, the “City within the River’s Bend,” was founded by Emperor Ly Thai To in AD 1010, near Co Loa, the ancient capital of the first Viet state dating back to the 3rd century BC. Ly Thai To structured this city, then known as Thang Long, around the massive citadel. To the east of this, a settlement of guilds was established to serve the needs of the royal court. By the 16th century, this area had developed into Hanoi’s celebrated Old Quarter.

The morning, 8:00am. Our tourguide and driver will pick up at your hotel and go to visit the Ho Chi Minh Complex where we can see Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum, President Palace and Ho Chi Minh’s house on stilts. Lying to one side of the Mausoleum is One Pillar pagoda founded by King Ly Thai To in 1049. The mausoleum is the last resting place of Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam’s great revolutionist. The Ho Chi Minh Museum is the preserver of everything memorable related to Ho Chi Minh.
Tran Quoc Pagoda
After that you also can visit Tran Quoc Pagoda - One of the oldest pagodas in Hanoi. Visit The Temple of Literature and Quoc Tu Giam – the first National University in Vietnam, which was built in 11th century. Its gardens and well - preserved architectures offer a relaxing glimpse into Vietnam’s past.
Lunch with Vietnamese food will be servered at Vietnamese restaurant.
We will continue to visit the Literature Temple and Quoc Tu Giam – Vietnam’s first University, constructed in 1070. Its gardens and well-preserved architecture offer a relaxing glimpse into Vietnam’s past.
From Hoan Kiem Lake, enjoy one hour cyclo tour around the old quarter passing Hanoi Opera house and go to visit St. Joseph’s Cathedral, trading areas in the Old Quarter, the old streets and around the Hoan Kiem Lake. We will stop to see Ngoc Son Temple and learn more about Sword Lake’s legend.
We will watch the Water Puppet Show before uor guide take you back to hotel.
The tour ends! Drop you off at your stayed hotel in the Old Quarter.
