BA BE LAKE AND BAN GIOC WATERFALLS - 4 DAYS
Glide on the mirror-like water of Ba Be Lake, venture deep into the border for the most impressive waterfall in Vietnam and discover the rich culture of hill tribe groups who live on spectacular mountains and terraces is something a real life experience you will never forget.
DAY 1: HANOI - BA BE ( -/L/D )
Depart from Hanoi for Ba Be at 8.00AM. The drive is filled with beautiful scenery of rural land. You will have a stop in the town of Thai Nguyen to visit the Museum of Ethnology where exhibits and information displays provide great insight into the cultures and lifestyles of the various hill tribe groups that reside in the region.
Lunch will be taken in a local restaurant en-route. Further drive to Ba Be through spectacular landscape of mountains and forest dotted with peaceful village on hillsides.
Arrive in the Pac Ngoi village of Tay minority people that situated by the bank of Ba Be lake in the late afternoon. Here, your host will welcome you to their home with warm smile and a cup of tea. Freshen yourself up then take a stroll around the village for sightseeing and photos. Dinner of local taste and specialties are served along with rice wine. Warm hospitality of the host and strong wine make you feeling at home and it is the chance to learn about local culture and tradition.
Home stay overnight in the local house on stilts - arranged by Luco Travel – Vietnam Tours & Services. Our accommodation tonight based on double or multi sharing on the wooden floor with private mattress, blanket and mosquito net are provided. The house also has modern toilet facilities with hot shower for you to use at convenience.
DAY 2: BA BE LAKE CRUISE - CAO BANG (B/L/-)
The day starts with a cruise on beautiful Ba Be lake to explore the wonder of nature. This is the largest natural lake on the mountainous area of Vietnam and is part of Ba Be national park. Boasted the Jade of the country, the picturesque scenery of the lake is in great harmony of tranquil emerald water and rocky forested islands.
The boat will stop for a visit to the Dau Dang waterfall and then Puong cave on the Nang River after that. Keep gliding along the river and be overwhelmed with breathtaking scenery along its banks until you get to the boat dock. Lunch in a local restaurant in Cho Ra town and keep driving towards Cao Bang through snaky road along spectacular scenery of mountains and forest.
Arrive in Cao Bang in the late afternoon. Check in hotel and relax or just wander around for sightseeing and shopping. Evening free at your leisure. Overnight in hotel - arranged by Luco Travel – Vietnam Tours & Services.
DAY 3: CAO BANG - BAN GIOC - CAO BANG (B/L/-)
After breakfast, we will venture into the northernmost region of Cao Bang Province. The scenic roads lead you up to higher elevation through august view of the land to the famous Ban Gioc Waterfall, the biggest and the best-known waterfalls in Vietnam.
Lies along the border with China, it is currently the 4th largest waterfall along a national border after Iguazu Falls, Victoria Falls, and Niagara Falls.
The fall is with the height of 53m and width of 300m, comprises 3 layers with water falling from the peak, creating spectacular scenery. In the middle of the fall is a rock landing covered by trees that divides the stream into three currents. It looks like three white silk bands and makes a slight mist that cools down the temperature.
You will also have a visit to Nguom Ngao, a huge and beautiful cave locates 5 km away from Ban Gioc. This is one of the main tourist attractions of the Cao Bang province.
Back to Cao Bang city in the afternoon then it is free time for relaxing.
DAY 4: CAO BANG - HANOI (B/L/-)
Today, you will have a whole day drive back to Hanoi with stops for coffee and lunch on the way. Arrive in Hanoi about 4 PM. Trip ends!
